OVERVIEW :
During winter, the majestic Mt. Toubkal and the surrounding peaks of the High Atlas undergo a remarkable transformation into a paradise for hikers, boasting tranquil trails, crisp air, and breathtaking vistas of the Toubkal Massif. Embarking from the bustling city of Marrakech, we journey directly into the heart of the High Atlas to conquer North Africa’s highest peak (4167m) amidst awe-inspiring scenery. While crampons and ice axes may be necessary depending on the weather, this expedition is crafted to be accessible to those who are physically fit and determined, even if they are new to winter trekking.
ITINIRARY :
Day 1: Transfer from Marrakech airport to the 4-star hotel.
Day 2: Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil. Acclimatization day around the Imlil Valley. One option is to trek to Tizi M’zzik col at 2660m / 8727ft in the nearby Mezzik Valley. Overnight in a local village.
Day 3: Ascend to the shrine at Sidi Chamharouch. Continue the ascent to reach the Neltner Refuge (3207m / 10,521ft), our accommodation for the next 3 nights.
Day 4: Leave the refuge to climb Ouanoukrim (4089m / 13,415ft) during the day. Time to rest and relax in the late afternoon at the refuge.
Day 5: Today, make the steep ascent to the summit of Jebel Toubkal (4167m / 13,672ft). After enjoying the panoramic views, return to the Neltner Refuge for the night.
Day 6: Leave the refuge and descend down the Aroumd Valley, passing through Sidi Chamharouch, and return to Imlil for the night at the hotel.
Day 7: Transfer to Marrakech, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore the city before returning to the 4-star hotel.
Day 8: Transfer from the hotel to the airport.
WHAT TO BRING:
